Zeolite, a naturally occurring product of seawater and hot magma, is a negatively charged mineral with a unique porous, cage-like structure. This structure enables zeolite to absorb and trap unwanted positively charged ions and molecules. Zeolite has the ability to loosely hold and exchange molecules such as calcium, sodium, magnesium, and potassium, while simultaneously absorbing undesirable molecules like ammonia and heavy metals.

Owing to its remarkable water-retention capabilities, zeolite is widely used as a soil amendment. It can hold up to 55% of its weight in water and gradually release it to the plants as needed, allowing them to more easily access water and nutrients. This makes zeolite an invaluable addition to lawns, flower and vegetable gardens, as well as potting soils.

Application Rates: - For new and existing lawns, till in 5-15 pounds of zeolite per 100 square feet, in the top 3-4 inches of soil, before seeding or laying sod. Thoroughly water the area. - For flower and vegetable gardens, till in 5-15 pounds of zeolite per 100 square feet into the top 6 inches of soil, before seeding, planting, or transplanting. - For potting soils, thoroughly mix 1-3 pounds of zeolite with 10 pounds of potting soil and water thoroughly.

It's important to note that zeolite is not intended for human consumption. However, it can be used as a cat litter alternative and as an absorbent for spills or odors.

In summary, zeolite's unique structure and properties make it a versatile and valuable mineral. Its ability to improve soil water retention and nutrient availability benefits plants, while its absorption capabilities make it useful for other household applications. By incorporating zeolite into your gardening and home care routines, you can experience its many practical advantages.
